SUMMARY This is a high profile role and the incumbent will be a key member of the China Finance Team responsible for: - Drive profitability improvement (with focus on Gross Margin) through analytics and growth initiatives, creating operation model and process for setting KPIs and tracking results. Working closely with GC Supply and commercial team. - Support Greater China Commercial Controller to prepare periodic management reports and financial insights to facilitate business review, forecasting and budgeting processes. - Providing adequate support to Greater China Commercial Controller in delivering quality planning, forecasting and management reporting which facilitates timely strategic decision making, both on a short term and long term basis - Being a reliable business partner to support relevant business leaders with accurate and insightful financial analysis to monitor business KPIs and enable effective decision making, ensure topline and COP are within targets, SOP and controls within business processes are properly adhered to, and escalate / highlight to management should there be risk to achieve targets. - Ensure the timeliness and processes for key deliverables are clearly communicated to the markets and deadlines effectively met. Pro-actively follow up with markets to prevent any delay in deliverables. - Work closely with markets for consolidation of financial and non-financial reports to Global/BU/Area, detect the abnormally via in dept review and take corrective actions       ·       Determine appropriate process, methodology, variables and modelling techniques to develop and deliver quality forecasts. Build complex excel models from scratch via proactive collaboration with markets / Global / BU. ·       Driving finance/ transformation projects and ensuring successful delivery, on time and within budget. ·       Being the country representation in providing inputs to the design and definition of various change initiatives in the reporting and business processes.  ·       Offering advice and drive significant changes whilst establishing effective business partnering with the business and Global team ·       Ensuring the Finance Operating Model is delivered, fully understood by, and embedded in the business to achieve the objectives through effective and cost efficient business operations. RESPONSIBILITY & ACCOUNTABILITIES The Finance Manager, GC FP&A is responsible for supporting the Greater China Finance Team / Business Stakeholders in financial planning and analysis exercises under different scenarios including plan / budgeting / actual results. Those reports and analysis include standard financial slides deck, monthly financial review, Greater China monthly reporting deck, and other ad-hoc reports supporting the business stakeholders to track and monitor the KPI achievement against year-end target set. This person also needs to work closely with Global Counterparts to drive and deliver business change and transformation programs. These include but not limited to develop Greater China business cases, through readiness assessment, future state design and benefits realization. You will own the deployment of various strategic projects within the Finance function across the businesses, support them in building a solid understanding of the Finance operating model and global business processes, and help the local team to simplify and harmonize the policies & procedures as well as reporting processes.   Profitability Improvement ·      Conduct in-depth internal and external analysis on category/segment financial performance to identify profitability improvement opportunities, set KPIs targets for profitability improvement, and monitor implementation of actions to drive the delivery of the targets. ·      Evaluate proposed profitability improvement initiatives and give recommendations on priorities of these initiatives to support business decision-making. ·      Create operation model/forum and establish processes to oversee delivery of profitability improvement. ·      Present to leadership teams on conducted analysis, proposed improvement initiatives, targets KPIs and tracking results. ·      Cross function collaboration with manufacturing sites, sales, marketing, operation teams, FP&A team, to facilitate operation. Month-End / Budgeting & Forecasting Planning/ LV / Business Reviews ·      Ensure submission deadlines from markets within China for monthly results (FLASH / ACTUALS / LV), forecast and plan are met and with quality commentaries ·      Facilitate necessary discussions on reporting issues which put delivery within deadlines at risk ·      Prepare month-end/ planning financials which is required within a very short time frame with high level of accuracy ·      Provide high quality support to the management as well as other functional teams during preparation for Business Reviews with Area and other ad-hoc meetings ·      Provide insightful analysis on the financials and suggest implications on business performance Business Readiness and Change Management ·      Work closely with Power Users from markets within Greater China during deployment to ensure local teams have the knowledge to support the key program activities (e.g. new management reporting system, new analytical tool for variance analysis, etc.) ·      Act as an advocate for the standardization of global business processes, data and new systems implementation within the business ·      Understand and gather information on change impact assessment in local and initiate changes to existing local processes to support new deployment initiated by Global / BU ·      Deploy the regional communication strategy defined by Global / BU ·      Facilitate best practice sharing across the countries and regions   PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS/ EXPERIENCE ·      Recognized Degree in Finance or Accounting, CA/ ACCA or equivalent ·      At least 5 years proven work experience within Finance/Accounting ·      Experience of working within a multinational environment/ FMCG industry preferred  ·      Microsoft Office literacy essential (strong excel skills in data compilation and aggregation, e.g. sumifs, indirect function, pivot table, v/h lookup, etc) ·      SAP, BPC, JDE, HFM, Fusion, Cognos knowledge desirable ·      General system fluency; willingness to partner with IT team on upgrades, change requests.  KEY COMPETENCIES / PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES ·      Involved, Driven, Passionate to grow and “hands on” professional.
